Finnair Opens Daily Route to Singapore
(Warsaw 10.3.2011) Finnair will begin scheduled flights on 30 May to the sparkling, pulsating five million inhabitant metropolis of Singapore. Singapore will be Finnair's tenth scheduled flight destination in Asia. Finnair will be the only airline to offer a daily connection between Singapore and Northern Europe with a timetable tailored to the needs of business passengers.
The daily Singapore flight will be the fastest connection between Northern Europe and Singapore. At the same time the route will offer good onward connections to other destinations.
”Besides offering a fast connection from Warsaw, via Singapore Polish passengers can conveniently continue to Australia and Southeast Asia using our comprehensive partner network”, says Radoslaw Podhorecki, Finnair's Corporate Sales Manager in Poland. ”The new route also provides excellent leisure travel opportunities not only to Singapore but in the neighbouring countries of Malaysia and Indonesia.”
Next Summer Finnair will fly a record number of 74 flights per week to 10 Asian cities: to Hong Kong 12 flights per week, to Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Seoul, Beijing, Shanghai, Bangkok and Singapore daily and to Delhi six flights per week.
From Warsaw Finnair will offer the fastest route to most of these 10 cities. ”This is due to the shortest routes between Asia and Europe passing through Helsinki, enabling us to offer quick and efficient connections”, Podhorecki explains.
Finnair will add Gdansk to its route network on March 28, in cooperation with Finncomm airlines. Finnair's seasonal Krakow-Helsinki flights will in turn commence on March 31 and will continue operating until October 2. ”When Gdansk is added to our route network, also travellers from the North of Poland can better benefit from Helsinki's favourable geographical position in relation to Asia”, Podhorecki concludes.
