FINNAIR OPENS DAILY ROUTE TO GDANSK

(Warsaw 10.11.2010) Finnair will commence daily flights between Helsinki and Gdansk as of March 27, 2011. Gdansk will be re-introduced as Finnair's third destination in Poland, adding to existing services to Warsaw and Krakow and providing fast connections also between north of Poland and Asia.

Finnair currently flies to Warsaw three times a day, and the Helsinki-Krakow route is served between end March and October. From Helsinki Finnair offers fast and convenient connections to several major Asian destinations, among other.

”Economic growth in the Tri-City region of Gdansk, Gdynia and Sopot is among the fastest in Poland, as is reflected in the number of Polish and foreign companies in the area as well as the income level of inhabitants”, says Juhani Nuoramo, Finnair's Sales Director in Poland. ”Our fast connections via Helsinki to key Asian destinations such as Shanghai, Hong Kong, Beijing, Singapore, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Seul, Bangkok and Delhi will now become available also from the north of Poland, serving the needs of business and leisure travellers alike”, Nuoramo continues.

The route from Gdansk to Helsinki will be flown daily, with departures from Gdansk on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 11.15 and on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays at 18.10. Flights from Helsinki to Gdansk depart on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 09.45 and on other days at 16.40. The flight time will be just under two hours.

The route will be operated by Finnair's partner Finncomm Airlines and its modern ATR 72-500 fleet that has an average age of approximately two years.
