Improved connections to Thailand via Helsinki

(Warsaw 23.1.2012) Finnair has signed a code share agreement with Bangkok Airways.  The new code share flights offer Finnair passengers even better access to destinations in Thailand when flying to Bangkok, Hong Kong and Singapore.

The recently started cooperation offers Finnair passengers the opportunity to visit two Asian destinations on the same trip. Finnair is the only European carrier that offers a stop-over in Hong Kong and Singapore on the way to the popular Thai resorts of Koh Samui, Phuket and Chiang Mai.

“The new partnership will open new possibilities to our passengers to visit Thailand and combine it with other destinations in Asia for added experience”, said Hannu Sundberg, Vice President for Airline Partnerships at Finnair.

“The daily non-stop services from Helsinki to Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong each connect with Bangkok Airways services to the paradise island of Koh Samui. Chiang Mai and the Northern part of Thailand is gaining popularity among European travellers and it is now well connected with Finnair's double daily Bangkok services, as is Phuket in the south”, Sundberg continued.

The daily cooperation flights Bangkok-Samui, Bangkok-Phuket, Bangkok-Chiang Mai, Singapore-Samui and Hong Kong-Samui will have both Finnair (AY) and Bangkok Airways (PG) flight codes.

Bangkok Airlines is the only Asian airline that has won for six years in a row the Best Regional Airline award by Skytrax.
