FINNAIR DAILY TO SEOUL AND NAGOYA

(Warsaw 21.10.2010) Finnair's traffic from Poland to Japan and China grew by 28 % and 24 % respectively in the third quarter of 2010, compared to the same period in 2009. To Korea the traffic quadrupled. Finnair will increase its number of flights to Seoul and Nagoya in December 2010 and as of  March 2011 the airline will fly daily to these Asian destinations.

”Particularly business travel from Poland recovered well in the third quarter of 2010 and continues to do so”, says Finnair's Sales Director in Poland Juhani Nuoramo. ”We showed good growth on our routes from Warsaw to Japan, China and Korea. Due to growing demand, we are expanding our fleet and boosting our share of the Asian market”, Nuoramo continues.

Instead of the previous four flights, Finnair will fly to Seoul six times per week and to Nagoya five times per week from December this year. From 27 March, the start of the summer traffic season, Finnair will fly daily to both Seoul and Nagoya.

Finnair already flies daily to Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Osaka and Bangkok.

"With shortest routes between Asia and Europe passing through Helsinki and our three daily flights from Warsaw to Helsinki, we are able to offer our customers quick and efficient connections", Nuoramo explains. ”In addition we keep focusing on the quality of our service, something that was recently recognized also in China where Finnair was selected best airline by Voyage magazine.”

The best airline award was granted by Voyage readers and a committee of experts in the We Change Travelling category of the 2010 Travel Brand Competition. With a circulation of 582 000 copies per month, Voyage is part of one of China's most significant media groups SEEC Media Group Ltd and its readership covers a large section of the Chinese elite, including business leaders.
