Finnair adds a daily frequency to Gdansk and flies more flights than before to Warsaw and Krakow in summer 2018

(Warsaw 1.9.2017) Finnair adds frequencies between Helsinki and Gdansk to double daily and increases summer season capacity to Warsaw and Krakow in 2018. Frequencies to popular long haul destinations Tokyo, Bangkok, Delhi, Chicago and San Francisco will also be increased.

The new daily frequency to Gdansk will be operated between April 24 and October 27. To Warsaw Finnair will fly three frequencies on weekdays and two on Saturdays and Sundays during all of the summer season, from March 26 to October 26. Frequencies to Krakow are added so flights are operated daily from June 18 to August 8. All in all Finnair will fly up to 40 flights a week between Helsinki and Warsaw, Gdansk and Krakow during the 2018 summer season.

"Poland is an important market for Finnair and the additional daily frequency will improve connectivity from Gdansk to our many Asian destinations as well as to New York, Chicago and San Francisco", says Arunas Skuja, Finnair's General Manager for East Europe and Baltic States. "We see a growing interest in Poland from our Asian customers and the longer operating season for the added frequencies to Warsaw and Krakow bring more capacity for traveling to these popular summer destinations."

Finnair will add capacity also to popular long haul destinations in Asia, with three new weekly frequencies to Tokyo Narita and Bangkok and an additional weekly frequency to Delhi. Together with Japan Airlines, in summer 2018 Finnair will offer three daily flights to Tokyo Narita as part of its joint business with British Airways and Iberia.

Finnair’s flight to Chicago will become daily with the addition of two new weekly frequencies from April to October and the three weekly flights to San Francisco will have a longer operating season, from May 3 to October 27.

Finnair's European network of over 100 destinations will be expanded. As of June 1 Finnair will open a route to Lisbon, Portugal with four weekly flights and as of April 23 the airline is opening a new daily route to Stuttgart, Germany. Besides Gdansk, short haul frequencies will be added between Helsinki and Tallinn, Moscow, Edinburgh, Barcelona, Madrid, Reykjavik, Dublin, Dubrovnik, Malaga, Tel Aviv, Billund, Venice, Chania, Skiathos, Santorini, Rhodes, Heraklion and Corfu.

“Traffic between Europe and Asia continues to grow, and the added long haul frequencies and our expanding network offers more choice than ever before for our customers,” Skuja concludes.
